Large Capacity, High Speed Elevator
Other than the remarkable Outdoor Type Observation Elevator, Toshiba has also developed high capacity, high speed elevator that is capable of carrying 75passengers in Izumi Garden of Roppongi Hills. This elevator travel between the 1st floor of the building which is connected to the subway station to the Sky Lobby at the 24th floor with a speed of 240m/min. From the Sky Lobby, the passengers can switch to the other elevators according to their destination floors.
Technology Realization of Large Capacity and High Speed
Driving system
High power output Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and Twin Inverter motor control system is applied.
Safety System
In order to make the large capacity, high speed elevator car able to stop safely during emergency, the safety devices are fixed at both top and bottom of the elevator. (For normal elevator, safety devices only fixed at the bottom of the car. Same as the Outdoor Type Observation Elevator, the Large Capacity, High Speed Elevator has prevention device for falling objects too.
Observation elevator car
Two out of four installed Large Capacity, High Speed Elevators are designed in such a way that the walls are made of large piece of glasses from waist height to the ceiling. Besides, these elevator's doors are made from glass and are facing the well hole design in the building creating a spacious visibility riding experiences to the passengers.
